Chlorphine - DEA

N-propionitrile chlorphine, also known as cychlorphine, is a synthetic opioid that has appeared in the U.S. illicit drug supply and has no approved medical or industrial use. It activates the same opioid receptors as fentanyl and may cause euphoria, profound sedation, respiratory depression, and death. DEA data indicate increasing detections in forensic evidence and fatal overdose cases, both alone and in combination with fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, stimulants, and designer benzodiazepines. Although it is not specifically controlled under the Controlled Substances Act, cychlorphine may be treated as a Schedule I controlled-substance analogue when intended for human consumption.
