This case study highlights how Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) can strengthen behavioral health disaster preparedness and recovery. Drawing on the Maui County CCBHC's response to the 2023 Lahaina wildfires, the publication explores crisis response, trauma-informed care, care coordination, workforce strategies, and community partnerships that support long-term recovery. The resource offers practical lessons for CCBHCs and behavioral health providers preparing for future natural and human-made disasters.
This project is funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee,
Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
