The Tennessee Certified Faith-Based Recovery Partner Toolkit explains how congregations and other faith communities can support people experiencing substance use disorders or mental health challenges. It describes recovery, Tennessee’s Faith-Based Initiative, and the role of faith communities in connecting people with treatment and ongoing support. The toolkit outlines the requirements for becoming and remaining a Certified Faith-Based Recovery Partner, including training, outreach, and referrals to recovery and crisis services. It also describes the responsibilities of Faith-Based Community Coordinators and the Lifeline Peer Project. Appendices provide information on finding partners and coordinators, communicating with faith leaders, and assessing community needs.
This project is funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee,
Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
