STOP SV: A Technical Package to Prevent Sexual Violence - CDC

Sexual Violence Prevention Resource for Action presents strategies and approaches to help states and communities prevent sexual violence and reduce its consequences. Developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it addresses protective social norms, prevention skills, opportunities to empower girls and women, protective environments, and support for victims and survivors. The resource describes the research supporting these approaches and provides examples of programs, policies, and practices. It also discusses coordination among community sectors and monitoring and evaluation of prevention efforts. Intended for professionals and organizations involved in prevention, the resource was originally published in 2016 as STOP SV: A Technical Package to Prevent Sexual Violence and received its current title in July 2023.

Printed copies currently ship under the original title, STOP SV: A Technical Package to Prevent Sexual Violence. The electronic download provides the same prevention material under CDC’s updated title, Sexual Violence Prevention Resource for Action: A Compilation of the Best Available Evidence. CDC changed the title in July 2023; the publication date remains 2016.
