Preventing Intimate Partner Violence Across the Lifespan: A Technical Package of Programs, Policies, and Practices

Intimate Partner Violence Prevention Resource for Action presents strategies to help states and communities prevent partner violence, including teen dating violence, and reduce its consequences. Developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it addresses healthy relationship skills, the influence of adults and peers, early prevention, protective environments, economic supports for families, and survivor safety. The resource describes supporting research and examples of programs, policies, and practices. It also discusses collaboration among community sectors and evaluation of prevention efforts. It is intended for professionals and organizations planning and implementing violence prevention initiatives.

Printed copies currently ship under the original title, Preventing Intimate Partner Violence Across the Lifespan: A Technical Package of Programs, Policies, and Practices. The electronic download provides the same prevention material under CDC’s updated title, Intimate Partner Violence Prevention Resource for Action: A Compilation of the Best Available Evidence. CDC changed the title in July 2023; the publication date remains 2017.
