Community Violence Prevention Resource for Action presents research-informed strategies to prevent violence affecting youth and young adults and reduce its consequences. Published by CDC in 2024, it updates and expands the agency’s 2016 youth violence prevention resource. The guide addresses economic security, education, safer environments, healthy family relationships, personal skills, connections with caring adults, and interventions for people affected by violence. It also discusses community conditions, partnerships, and evaluation of prevention efforts. Intended for professionals and community organizations, the resource provides examples of programs, policies, and practices to support coordinated prevention planning.
This project is funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee,
Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
