The CDC Substance Use & Mental Health Data Channel presents national and state-level information about the relationship between substance use and mental health. It reports data on mental health diagnoses and treatment histories among people who died from drug overdoses, as well as substance use among high school students. The resource indicates that mental health conditions and substance use disorders frequently occur together and identifies opportunities for integrated screening, treatment, and overdose prevention. Interactive visualizations allow users to examine available findings by topic and geographic area. It also connects users with related CDC data systems, prevention resources, and crisis-support information.
This project is funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee,
Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
