Results
from the 2002 (NSDUH): National Findings This
report presents the findings from the 2003 National Survey on Drug
Use and Health (formerly called the National Household Survey on
Drug Abuse) . Information is provided about the prevalence of
substance use in the population and the problems associated with its
use. The survey collects data on the sociodemographic
characteristics of users, patterns of use, treatment, perceptions of
risk, criminal behavior, and mental health.

report also gives information about the demographic and substance
abuse characteristics of the annual admissions to treatment for
alcohol and drug abuse in facilities that report to individual State
administrative data systems. .

Warning Network, Final Estimates 1995-2002

Trends in the number of drug
mentions in emergency department episodes are examined in this
report. The study also compares the incidence of specific drug
mentions in major metropolitan areas. Three reports were produced
for each year: Mid-Year, which summarizes the preliminary data from
January to June; Year-End, which summarizes the preliminary data
from July to December; and Annual, which summarizes the year’s
final data and makes comparisons to previous years’ trends. •
